GUERRILLA GIRLS @Tate ModernNot very christmassy but definitely a red-hot issue. Why is there not many women's artworks in all major museums and galleries? We have created a child-friendly tour specially designed to invite children to think about this matter through the work of the 'Guerrilla Girls'. Guerrilla Girls is an anonymous group of female artists devoted to fighting sexism and racism within the art world. Children will be given the task of finding all female artworks at the museum following a treasure hunt.
THURSDAY 21st December
Stop-motion animation also known as ‘Claymation’ or ‘Stop-frame’ animation is the technique used in film and TV favourites such as Wallace & Gromit, Morph, Pingu and Shaun the Sheep. Children will work in small groups and with the support of one of the teachers per group they'll devise an idea and produce a storyboard for their film, make models/characters and props using modelling clay, producing animated films around 10-25 seconds long complete with titles, credits and music.
